Hawker is born out of a love for vintage design, a nostalgia for the workmanship of the past and a desire to provide Australian consumers with a lifeline to sustainable products. We want to empower our customers to make purchases with confidence that their investment is going to makers that consider the welfare of the planet in their production process. At Hawker we acknowledge the harm that humans make as consumers and we try to do our part to bring awareness to consuming consciously.

When sourcing vintage Hawker collects pieces that bare the marking of the life they have led. We always buy based on shape and story, and often on potential. We look for items that have been hand made or hand forged and are honest in their manufacture, their age, and are patinated with history. We love a project and to bring something back to life.

At Hawker we buy in furniture, lighting, unique fabrics and cloth, unisex clothing and boots, homewares, ceramics, glassware, blankets and art. We hope to find pieces that have character, nostalgia or connection for someone. Something to lift up a person or a room. Hawker was created by Rosie Brown who has spent over ten years working in interior design and who uses her knowledge of design trends and styles, and her eye for well made classic design, to bring unique pieces to our customers.

Hawker acknowledges and pays respect to the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation on whose Land we work, gather and play. We recognise the significant role the past, present and future Elders play in the living culture, connection to land, and to our community. We are mindful that the Land always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.

Thank you, and welcome to Hawker.
